Censor Board Passes Verdict on Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal,' Demands Edits Ahead of Release

Anticipation is at its peak for the upcoming crime drama 'Animal,' starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, slated for release on December 1. However, the buzz surrounding the film recently took a turn as the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) delivered its verdict, granting an A certification and calling for several edits.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, marking his first collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor, 'Animal' has become one of the most-awaited films of 2023. The CBFC, in its assessment, demanded the removal of certain scenes, notably the 'steamy' moments between Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. According to reports circulating on the internet, the intimate visuals have been modified by deleting close-up shots at TCR 02:28:51 mins, approximately.

In addition to the visual edits, the CBFC directed the makers to alter the word 'Costume' to 'Vastra' and suggested changes to specific dialogues, including 'Kabhi nahi' and 'Kya bol rahe ho aap.' The word 'Natak' has been muted, and sub-titles referring to changing pads four times a month have been modified. Cuss words were also reportedly modified to be more suitable for the audience, and even the word 'Black' underwent some changes.

The decision by the CBFC to make these edits adds a layer of intrigue to the film's narrative, leaving fans curious about the scenes that have been altered. The move, while ensuring the film complies with certification standards, also generates heightened curiosity about the intensity and boldness that 'Animal' promises to deliver.

Produced by T-Series, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios, 'Animal' boasts a stellar cast including Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri. With a budget of a whopping Rs 100 crore, the film is not only highly anticipated but also touted as one of the longest Indian films. As cinephiles await the release of 'Animal' on December 1, the CBFC's verdict adds an intriguing layer to the excitement, making it a film to watch out for.
