Amazon is on a roll when it comes to inking new deals and renewing series here and there. On that note, two more shows have been renewed. Those shows are The Expanse and Carnival Row.
According to reports in Variety, Amazon has picked up “The Expanse” for a fifth season. The announcement was made during the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Saturday. Season 4 of the series is set to debut on Dec. 13.
“The Expanse” aired its first three seasons on Syfy, with the cable networking having canceled the series back in 2019. Shortly after it was canceled, it was reported that Amazon was in talks to continue the series, which is produced and fully financed by Alcon Television Group.
And when it comes to Carnival Row, the show has been renewed a second season. The news comes before the Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne show has even debuted.
The series is set in a Victorian fantasy world filled with mythological immigrant creatures whose exotic homelands were invaded by the empires of man. This growing population struggles to coexist under the onerous laws of humanity. Vignette (Delevingne) and Philo (Bloom) rekindle a dangerous affair despite an increasingly intolerant society. Vignette also harbors a secret that endangers Philo’s world during his most important case yet: a string of gruesome murders threatening the uneasy peace of the Row.
