BTS: As SK president Yeon Seok-yeol comes under the radar; reports hint that band was scammed of millions

BTS fans had travelled all the way to South Korea for the Busan concert. It was held as promotion for the World Expo. The 2022 concert was the last one for the seven members as a group and ARMY emptied their pockets for them. Now, reports are coming out of South Korea hinting that the Bangtan Boys might have been scammed of USD 4.75 million by the present Government. As we know, the public dissent against South Korean president Yoon Suk-Yeol is on a high after he declared martial law. It seems BTS was supposed to receive 7 billion KRW for the concert that was part of Busan World Expo fee. As per reports on MBC, the Govt apparently made the band perform for free, and HYBE had to bear all costs of organizing the event.

The reports are saying that the Government had suggested a venue that could be dangerous for the large fan base of the band, given the capacity. Fearing mishap, BTS and its management decided to book a venue on their own, the Busan Asiad Stadium. Reports have also called them out for not taking enough efforts for the World Expo bid other than making BTS perform. Even the Jamboree concert of 2023 has faced immense criticism from public. It is being said that the Ministry of Defense had urged the present Govt to somehow get BTS to perform at the event. However, HYBE rejected the proposal.

In between, there were also proposals being suggested that would let BTS members take breaks in between military enlistment and perform for national economy. This would mean that none of the members could earn anything out of the performances. This was just to extract maximum out of them. BTS fans are livid knowing that this is how Govt planned to allegedly exploit them.
