&TV's latest offering Badho Bahu is a unique one. It has the look and feel of Dum Lagake Haisha meets Sultan', which would obviously make for a good concept.
Lovingly called Badho (meaning too much' in Haryanvi), Komal played by Rytasha Rathore is a kind hearted, fun loving girl who expects to lead a happy married life with a loving husband and in-laws.
But as fate would have it, her groom ditches her at the altar and she is forced to get married to Lucky Singh Ahlawat, played by Prince Narula. Lucky is now tied up to a life partner, who is just opposite to him in all ways possible.
Badho Bahu indirectly deals with the issue of how fat people are perceived in the society. It deals with borderline body shaming. When we asked both the leads about the same, here's what they had to say to us-
"Body Shaming is a very real problem in the world currently. Men, women, children, irrespective of whether you are fat or skinny, everyone has some or the other body issues. Ultimately, it's very important that we drive this point home that 'everybody is beautiful'. You need to find it within yourself to love yourself. I used to struggle during my school days but after I started going to college, I accepted myself and now I love myself. And that's all that matters," said Rytasha.
Prince said, "If people assume that one looks good if he/she is fat or thin, that is one big misconception. One must see that talent in people and not their outer physical appearance if the person is fat or thin. It all depends on the way you look at people. I feel pity on people who say stuff like,'Hey look, there is a fat lady going'."
On a concluding note, Prince also added, "The day people stop judging others on their physical appearance, the world will become a better place to live in."
