The absolute vicious best from your favourite TV shows...

2017 was a great year for Vamps and a few of them were so good, they made bad look good! Writing a vamp into a scene must inevitably be more fun than writing a goody-two-shoes heroine (for good reason!). Today, we're celebrating the female villains on tinsel town for all the drama they add to the screen.
Here's a list of the top six vamps on TV-
Maya from Beyhadh
This one is a no-brainer! Jennifer Winget gave 2017 a mastermind villainess who was so ruthless in her ways, she left even the most hardened evil characters of Indian TV look like school kids. Her portrayal of an obsessive lover was spot-on and she wore her role in the most flattering way. The web she weaved on Beyhadh to entrap the object of her affection was intriguing to watch and the credit of the show's fan-following belongs to her. She made the audience believe in her madness and that is a step ahead in terms of negative characters on the small screen.
Nisha Shukla from Woh Apna Sa
Ridhi Dogra Vashisth being a seasoned actress makes for an amazing antagonist. She played Nisha Shukla with such a convincing air, it was difficult to see the art and the artist separately. Her character went about wearing the mask of an ideal bahu, pretending to have memory loss and manipulating even her closest family members. She easily makes it into the list of the top vamps of the year.
Tanu and Aliya from Kumkum Bhagya
Kumkum Bhagya has an amazing team of sister-in-law and ex-lover who will do anything to break Abhi and Pragya apart. The vengeful duo Tanu (Leena Jumani) and Aliya (Shikha Singh) are not just hateful antagonists but also characters who know how to provide comic relief. They are the vamps who plot together, fail together and come back with cunning plans nonetheless. Watching them trying to tear their opponents' lives apart has been fun!
Tia and Svetlana from Ishqbaaaz
Every Ishqbaaaz fan has loved to hate on Tia (Navina Bole) and Sevtlana (Reyhna Malhotra). Introduced in heavy opposition to the Oberoi brothers as Nafratbaaaz, these characters were the reason the trio of brothers often fell into trouble. They perfectly fit the criteria with their stylish ensembles that blend right into the vamp archetype TV is known to create. We love how the actress who played Svetlana also joked about how nobody will never know her motive.
Tara from Ishq Mein Marjawan
Tara makes it to the list purely because of her portrayal of a cold-blooded killer. Aalisha Panwar does a great job as a criminal in Ishq Mein Marjawan and although the show is fairly new, we thought this character is worth the mention. She is stylish, deceivingly cunning and sexy. What's even more impressive about this vamp is that she blends easily into the role of Arohi, her doppelganger.
Dayavanti from Naamkaran
Naamkaran offered TV a very convincing female villain in the form of Dayavanti. The part of elderly negative character was the last role veteran actress Reema Lagoo played before her heart-breaking demise. Ragini Shah took over from then on and the character continued to grace the screens. Brilliant performances coupled with a well written character sketch puts Dayavanti on the list of the top vamps on TV this year.

Maya is not a "Vamp", she is a "Protagonist!" She is a class apart from all the so called TV Vamps. Like the article said, she made the audience believe in her Beyhadhness, and root for her in her crazy quest. THAT is the triumph of Maya. People usually love to hate Vamps. The fact that most didn't itself proves Maya was not a Vamp but the person the story Beyhadh was ALL about! People genuinely loved Maya even while hating her behavior and choices sometimes. Jennifer played her with so much conviction and a hint of vulnerability that made you feel for Maya even when you hated what she did. Maya Beyhadh hai sums her up! She is the most limitless female protagonist seen on Indian TV. She has made the genre of negative female lead possible! Reema Lagoo ma'am made an impact as Daya! The same impact could not be replicated by Ragini Shah! No offence to her, but Reema ji was a hard act to follow.

Jennifer Winget was amazing as Maya the only thing that made Beyhadh work. As for Daya, no offense to Ragini but she could not live up to the impact Reema left behind as a villain. I feel Manini has been more impactful in the time she has been a part of Naamkarann

Dayavanti was the most evil as she killed her own son!!!! Svetalana is the most stylish!!! Nisha is the most beautiful!!!! Maya is not a vamp but an anti-heroine!!!!

Jennifer Winget as maya was just phenomenal. Her portrayal of maya has been one of the finest performance by a popular actress in recent times on television

Without any doubt Ridhi Dogra Vashisth was the best vamp as Nisha in Woh Apna Sa. I have never loved a negative character this much.

I agree with all of them except for the ishqbaaz and KKB vamps. They are your typically petty, predictable, OTT and cliched vamps of indian tv as they are ekta and gul vamps. Every other character included here I agree with. Really miss Reema Lagoo in Naamkarann.
