#BestOf2017: 5 major REPLACEMENTS that changed the course of these shows!

We are half-way through our #BestOf series and while we have had some really interesting reads, we promise you, you will not be disappointed by the remaining lot.

Today, we talk about some of the shocking replacements that certainly left one's eyes open and jaws dropped. Of course, there was a barrage of actors being replaced left and right in the many shows. However, here we list down the 5 key replacements that changed the course of the running show.

The first half of 2017 saw one of the biggest replacements in one of the longest running shows on Indian television. Actor Bhavya Gandhi aka Tapu, who literally grew up as the character for 8 and a half years decided to quit the show for pursuing a career in films. The exit wasn't done on an amicable note and producer Asit Modi had some remarks to make. Nevertheless, actor Raj Anadkat came in as the replacement and it hasn't really impacted the show's popularity or ratings owing to its ensemble cast.

A replacement that certainly wasn't planned, where the whole TV industry was left shocked on the sudden demise of veteran actress, Reema Lagoo who was fantastic as Dayavanti in Naamkarann. This unfortunate incident led to the sudden replacement of the actress and Ragini Shah, who has also been on the block for a long time came in to play the new Dayavanti. 

This one took a really long time, where the show went on without a protagonist for a few months post Dipika Kakar's exit from the show. However, the wait was finally over when actress Keerti Kelkar was roped in to play the NEW Simar in Sasural Simar Ka thereby making her much-awaited comeback to television. The show has later witnessed several developments and currently manages to stay hanging at the 5: 30 pm slot with respectable TRPs.

Ridhi managed to enthrall the viewers with her comeback to TV as the menacing and scheming Nisha in Zee TV's Woh Apna Sa. In the 9 months that she was with the show, Ridhi was absolutely fantastic playing a negative character. However, unwilling to age on-screen post the humongous 20 year leap, Ridhi quit the show thus making way for actress, Manasi Salvi to play the new Nisha.

The latest replacement on the block, this one came across as a shocker considering the magnitude of a character that Sidharth Shukla managed to portray as Parth Bhanushali in the show. Sidharth was in the news constantly for all the wrong reasons and only a few days ago, the same resulted in his replacement. Actor, Rohan Gandotra has come in to play the character and we are yet to see him as Parth and also if or not it will have any impact on the ratings.

As we mentioned that these replacements were the ones that were pivotal to the show's success or failure and hence, they make the cut to the list.
