Beauty and the Beast to be launched in the New Year

Is gold being used to make the sets of the upcoming show The Beauty and the Beast? Our source says ‘yes’.

Beauty and the Beast, the evergreen fairy tale which comes with the moral that we shouldn't judge a person by his looks, is now being made into an Indian TV series which will be produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions (if sources are to be believed). According to earlier news reports the plot revolves around a not-so-good looking radio jockey who falls in love with a beautiful girl.

If this is truly the plot, then it will be nice to have a story with a male lead for a change. Also as TV heroes are almost always handsome hunks, it will be a refreshing change to have a hero whose isn't conventionally handsome but has other qualities which will awe the viewers. Maybe we will see the male version of Jassi (Ugly Betty) in this show.

Our source told us that this show is to be launched in January on Sony TV. The set we hear will have real gold incorporated in certain places. Nowadays TV serials have lavish sets- if our source's reports are true this set will be one all will envy as it will surely stand out. Surely there has to be high security to ensure that there is no burglary on the sets.

We called Shashi Mittal to confirm the news. However she said, "I can't talk about this right now." As she wishes to be tight-lipped we may just wait and watch.

Sounds interesting...at least Sony is trying something new instead of all the regressive shows it has launched in 2012. But why not do a sequel to Jassi rather than a male version of JJKN?

go ahead this fairy tale was my alltime fairy tale as i love fairy tales..what abot shows on cinderella and rapunzel?? btw beast was actually handsome prince..so what to do with that part??

they should make an indian version of cinderella where cinderella , her two evil sisters bang her evil step mother , prince, cinderallas evil saas etc or snow white n the seven dwarfs i m sure indian audience will love it lolllz !!

Sony is launching another fairytale?After what happened to DEK I am not really sure about its success.They just ruined the show.If the male lead is again not good-looking then girls wont watch it.

As shallow as it might seem...its not gonna work...da looks of da male lead works as da USP of most love stories...its hindi tv drama we r talking abt...breaking da trends is near to imposible...audiences need handsum n good looking male leads to drool n needs good chemistry to swoon...or else its a flop
