BB13| Devoleena Bhattacharjee: My Home is Close to The Sets of Bigg Boss!

Television’s much-awaited reality show Bigg Boss is finally here and fans are already excited for the thirteenth season. Unlike last year, this season has roped in all celebrity contestants with a new twist as host Salman Khan has been hinting since the first promo was revealed. After a lot of speculations and rumours, Devoleena Bhattacharjee is finally inside the controversial Bigg Boss 13 house.

Devoleena who is known for her character portrayal of Gopi Bahu in Saath Nibhana Saathiya is one of the participants in the show. Before entering the house, the actress got candid about her excitement and the reason why she participated in Bigg Boss in an exclusive interview with India Forums.

How are you feeling being one of the participants in Bigg Boss? Are you excited or nervous?

First, I’m nervous along with a little fear and after that, there is some excitement. But I’m sure once I go inside the house then everything might turn into excitement only.

What is making you feel nervous about the show? And what are you excited for?

There have been so many seasons of the show and now, this is the 13th season, Though I never completely followed the show but I have watched some of it. So, a bit of fear and nervousness is obvious as you’ll be locked inside the house for 105 days with 13-16 strangers, no communication with the outside world. Basically, I’m a free bird kind of girl, who can’t be caged but I’m getting myself caged inside the Bigg Boss house, which will be difficult for me. This time, one thing is good that there are so many celebrities participating from the industry and I might know some of them, though I’m not aware of the contestants. On the contrary, it will also be a challenge for me, so, let's see how it goes.

This time Bigg Boss house is not in Lonavala but in Filmcity, Mumbai, which quite close to your home. So, how do you feel about it?

This is the fourth year, I have been approached for the show and I guess this is the reason that my home is close to the set and I accepted the offer. I can even ask Bigg Boss if can go home for 5 minutes, it's nearby only (laughs). I’m happy about it. The fact that my home is close to the set also relaxes you mentally because you can at least console yourself that your family is close to you.

You have been tagged as ‘Gopi Bahu’ for years now. Do you think that this is a deliberate decision to introduce you as Gopi Bahu on the show?

Not exactly! I’m very honoured with Gopi Bahu’s tag. I feel good about it, I feel better when I’m known as Gopi because for me Gopi is an iconic character. Even If I’m not there but I know that character will live, people have loved that character.
