Badboli Bhavna

The short film revolves around the life of Bhavna, a budding social media influencer (Apoorva) and her introvert husband, Sankalp (Ankush) who are in a constant struggle of striking the perfect balance between their personal and digital lives and keeping them separate. With the couple celebrating their two-year anniversary at a romantic dinner, little do they know that they have completely different reasons to rejoice.

While the quiet Sankalp just wants to celebrate his relationship, Bhavna considers reaching 1 million followers to be a far more important milestone. Directed by Pranjal Dua and produced under the banner of ILN Studios, the short film features Apoorva Arora and Ankush Bahuguna in the lead.

The short is almost 30 minutes long, and it slides through as easily as one could imagine. Not for a second does it look overdone, and due credits to the writers for the same. While what we see are very obvious aspects one might feel that come along with being an influencer and the conflicts that may arise, however, it does so without being preachy and yet, delivers the message just right.

As for both Ankush and Apoorva, they deliver what is expected out of them. It is safe to say that Ankush has managed to get himself a beautiful first project, where he is convincing, even though he is playing someone so opposite to him. While he might understand the place that his character of Sankalp comes from, to put that on screen the way he does, is laud worthy.

Moving on to Apoorva, she is an amazing actor and she has proven her mettle with all the work she has done in the past. And much like the others, she is convincing here too, and exudes classic Apoorva like character vibes (an I mean it as an absolute compliment).

The short film on Amazon MiniTV ends on a sweet note, as one would expect, but the process of getting there is what is rather beautiful. At the end of it, you are left with a smile, and that's all that really matters, isn't it?
