Backdrop of honour killing for Pearl Grey's next

Makers of the well received show Mann ki awaaz... Pratigya are now working on their next show which is on Colors. The show will talk about how the brutal mentality of people becomes a curse for budding relationships.

If the buzz, is to be believed the show will be with built with the backdrop of honour killing. A story about the mother and daughter and how the mother fights her fears to keep her daughter safe in order to provide her daughter a fruitful future.

A little birdie tells us, "Show will be set up in Uttar Pradesh and will be based on Yadav family. The casting for the same is in progress. But nothing is finalized as of now. The show is finalized and it will mostly be on air in the last week of august."

When contacted producer Pearl Grey refused to comment.

Writer Shanti Bhushan who has been penning the successful show of Pratigya along with Pearl Grey will be the writer for this show too. We spoke to writer Shanti Bhushan who said, "We are again dealing with a socially relevant issue in our next show. It will talk about the sufferings that one has to endure in a society that is brutal to feelings such as love and relationships."

When we asked him whether it's based on Noida killings he quipped, "Honour killings is just a backdrop but we are going a level higher and will be dealing with issues in a different way."

Our source further informs, "The makers of Pratigya were to bring on a show based on the trial and tribulations of devdasis. They were to shoot in Karnataka for the same. However, this particular idea got shelved and the channel and production house are now eagerly looking forward to this new concept."

Incidentally we hear that Colors is also working on a similar concept. With Colors working quickly towards the launch of their show it looks as though Star Plus will face a stiff challenge and might be forced to alter the storyline.

For the uninitiated, Swastika Pictures had earlier suffered as their show Chaand Jalne Laga , a love story set up in the locales of Himachal Pradesh was shelved because Rajan Shahi and Star Plus came up with their love story Chand Chupa Badal Mein set in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

Let's wait and watch what Pearls' next has to offer to audience…

well said Laila2009 and pardesii... ""It is not an issue of liking or disliking a show but not insulting the viewers intelligence - or at least mine and that of others here". Its so true.. v r not dumb.. and the sexual harrassment termed as luv interest is really pathetic.. and there r teenagers who really drool over these men.. take for e.g Geet on StarOne.. he is actually harrassing Geet invading her private space.. and its served and girls r lured all in name of true luv! Teenager girls actually tend 2 thnk such guys r cool!

in india writers do their work keeping their eyes on TRP....and the method they use to measure TRP is totally flawed....from such writers to expect proper research and authenticy in social issues is a big joke....it is better to watch these shows just like we watch shows like dmg, mjht....keep ur brain cells inactive and dont ask questions....
to compare our writers with those of foreign writers is a humiliation to the latter.
as they say tv is an idiot box and noone better than indian serial writers can prove this right...

finally i wud like to say....if the writers because of their ego or watever silly TRP reason refuse to do field research then they better stop showing serials on social issues....better not give any message to the viewers than giving out wrong message....

I agree with u all Pratigya is sending wrong message to the society , no matter what a situation is a girl might be forced to marry someone but falling in love with ur own abuser is yuck...But Pratigya has a great actors no doubt
