Ayushmann Khurrana opens up the box office failure of 'An Action Hero' & its timing

Ayushmann Khurrana, the talented actor known for his stellar performances, recently shared his thoughts on the box office fate of his last theatrical release, "An Action Hero." Despite receiving rave reviews when it hit screens in December, the film couldn't create wonders at the box office.

Facing a rough patch in terms of box office success, Ayushmann acknowledged that a good film may not always fare well commercially, but it leaves a lasting impact and is never forgotten.

Reflecting on "An Action Hero," Ayushmann compared the film's journey to a jigsaw puzzle, emphasizing the importance of finding the right pieces for a successful cinematic experience. the actor said, “Waqt waqt ki baat hai. It’s like jigsaw puzzle, it’s important that you have to fit. That timing was not right maybe. As an actor the process is important. If you understand that and enjoy it (then good). In the long term, a film gets its due. Like, Lamhe didn’t work but over the years, it got a lot of love.”

During the trailer launch of his upcoming comedy "Dream Girl 2," Ayushmann shared his excitement about the film, marking his fifth theatrical release post the pandemic. The sequel stars Ananya Panday alongside him and is a follow-up to the hit 2019 film "Dream Girl," which emerged as one of Ayushmann's biggest successes.

Describing "Dream Girl 2" as a unique mass entertainer with a full theatrical palette, the actor noted that while his subject-based films often cater to multiplex audiences, "Dream Girl" succeeded in smaller towns and big cities. Ayushmann referred to the film as an "organic sequel," raising expectations for another enjoyable cinematic experience. The film will add more laughter and entertainment to the audience's lives as it soon hits the theatres.
