Recently, Avinash Mishra has condemned Elvish Yadav’s racist comments directed at Chum Darang. In an interview, Avinash, who also participated in Bigg Boss 18 with Chum, criticized both Rajat Dalal and Elvish Yadav for their remarks, stating that such comments should never have been made. He mentioned in his conversation with Bollywood Bubble that he reached out to Rajat after seeing the controversy unfold in the headlines, emphasizing that even if the show was scripted, Rajat should have been more mindful of his words.
I watched it and I dialled Rajat (Dalal). Kya bol raha hai? He told me that it was scripted and that they were given a script. What script? If it was a script, didn’t you read it? How can you say this after reading it? He is a very nice guy but this side of his…I told him to shut it. Bad side, just drop it. It is not required. Your good side is being loved. Saying that it was scripted is just an excuse

“This should not have been said. I am sure he also knows that he has made a mistake. I don’t think he will do such podcasts again. What else can I say? I watched it and felt very weird. Why would somebody say things like this? You cannot say anything in the name of roast," the actor added.
In his latest podcast with Rajat Dalal, Elvish Yadav made some racist and disturbing remarks about Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chum Darang. The YouTuber, who is also the winner of Bigg Boss OTT 2, referred to Chum as vulgar and even questioned the validity of her name.
“Karan Veer ko pakka COVID tha kyunki Chum kisko pasand aati hai bhai, itna taste kiska kharab hota hai! Aur Chum ke toh naam mein hi ashleelta hai… Naam Chum aur kaam Gangubai Kathiawadi mein kiya hai," he said.
Later, Chum Darang responded to Elvish Yadav's racist remarks with a powerful statement, saying, “Disrespecting someone’s identity & name is not ‘fun.’ Mocking someone’s achievements is not ‘banter.’ It’s time we draw the line between humor and hate. What’s even more disappointing is that this wasn’t just about my ethnicity, my hard work and a film backed by a visionary like Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also disrespected."
She continued, “To my fellow Northeasterners and everyone who has faced racism I see you, I hear you, and I stand with you. We all deserve respect, dignity, and equality. Let’s raise our voices against racism and promote a culture of empathy, kindness, and understanding. #NoRoomForRacism #NotOkaywithRacism."
