Ashiesh Roy re-enters SAB TV's Maniben.com
Ashiesh Roy who had earlier done a cameo in Maniben.com is making a re- entry on the show,in a new avatar.
After enacting the supremely hilarious role of Mehmood saab a few months back, Ashiesh Roy is back in the popular SAB TV show Maniben.com, albeit in a new avatar. As the serial is now being distributed into small stories, new characters would be introduced at regular intervals.
When asked Ashiesh about his idea of getting back on the serial he said, "The channel must have liked what I did last time, so here I am!" (smiles). The story revolves around my character and Maniben, and we have shot some hilarious scenes together."
Essaying his character in the serial he said, "My character name is Iyer, a London-returned MBA boy, who is presently employed as the man friday of a retired army colonel (Anjan Srivastava)".
Commenting on the story, the actor says, "It is a very funny story. The entire humour is situational and verbal which is director Rajan Wagdhare's forte. After a long time, I'm getting to do straight-faced comedy, and I'm loving it."
And talking about the gala time on sets he said, "Fun, pure fun. Smriti Irani is a revelation as a comic actor, considering her serious image. But then, comedy is 'serious' business, so she's cool. And I've been a childhood fan of Anjanji. It is my honor to share screen space with him. We're having a blast together."
"One day, the colonel buys Maniben's scooter by default as an antique, and Maniben gets furious at it. The rest of the story is all about how Maniben gets her beloved scooter back, with of course, loads of hilarious twists and turns, one of which being that Iyer hopelessly falls in love with Maniben and wants to marry her", asserted our source elaborating on the track.
Our source also added," Iyer and the colonel share a tongue-n-cheek love-hate relationship, which is both hilarious as well as endearing. As the cranky old colonel is fond of collecting antiques, he perpetually asks Iyer to polish and preserve them, a work that Iyer finds disgusting"
