Ashi Singh and Shagun Pandey share their experience of shooting with an infant on the sets of Meet

Zee TV's popular fiction show, Meet, has made a special place for itself in the audience's hearts since its premiere. The inspirational show presents the story of Meet Hooda (Ashi Singh), who mirrors several women across the nation, fighting societal norms of gender roles regarding work and responsibilities. In the recent episodes, the audience has witnessed how Meet Hooda and Meet Ahlawat are looking after the abandoned baby they found on their ‘Theerth Yatra’.

While Ashi and Shagun share a special bond with the baby on-screen, the actors are in awe of the baby, off-screen as well. The cast of the show is very happy with the presence of the baby on set and are already like a family to her.  As per the actors, the baby has been very easy to work with, she is so calm that even when they shoot scenes in noisy surroundings, she doesn’t cry or trouble anyone in any way.  The cast and crew ensure that the baby is always comfortable and try to make most of their time together!  

To this Ashi said, “It has been really amazing shooting with a baby on set, the whole vibe of the set has changed. Usually, babies get too cranky when they’re on the set, especially the infants, but Zehra is a very calm child. We shot an outdoor thunderstorm sequence with her, and surprisingly she did not cry even once. Since day one, she is so comfortable working with everyone on set, she plays with everyone, and we all are constantly concerned about her. If she is sleeping everyone makes sure to maintain silence and not disturb her, if she is crying everyone is trying to make her laugh and ensures she is well fed.  In case she starts crying, we have to put the shot on hold, check what's bothering her and see how we can fix the issue. So, there are a lot of things that have changed after Zehra joined us on the set and we are totally enjoying this time.”

Shagun mentioned, “Zehra is one of the sweetest kids I have met, and we have a great understanding. I have tried to be friends with her, and I know she has accepted me as one of her friends. The scenes we are usually shooting with her are intense where her expressions are important and because she is a little baby, I talk to her a lot. I speak to her about things like what kind of shot it is, how long it will take, and how we cannot afford her to cry in the scene. There are times when we are in a scene and if I leave her, she starts crying, so we give it to the person with whom she needs to do a crying scene, these are the kind of tricks we use with her. I feel there is a lot of understanding between us. Most of the time I try to keep her with me on the set so that her mother can rest and also because I genuinely love her. We all believe that this one is a little lucky charm for us as she has brought great numbers for the show. Everyone on the set is in love with her, every time she looks at me, she smiles with her whole heart. I am very protective of her, and she always wants to come to me, even from her mother’s lap. I hope that she stays with us for a long period of time so that we get to spend time with her.”

While the actors are having fun shooting with the baby on the set, in the upcoming episodes viewers will get to witness how Meet Hooda and Meet Ahlawat are trying to find out the real culprits behind the baby’s kidnapping.
