The narcotics case involving Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's son Aryan Khan is still going on. According to a recent news story in Bar & Bench, a Mumbai court has given the Narcotics Control Bureau's Special Investigation Team (SIT) 60 more days to produce a charge sheet in the cruise ship narcotics case. The NCB had requested 90 days to file the charge sheet, but was only granted 60.

According to the report, the NCB SIT presented numerous grounds in order to get a charge-sheet filing extension. One of the numerous explanations said,

"That the 20 accused apprehended in the case are from all fields and walks of life, and the SIT is still in the process of recording their statements; several of the accused did not come up for investigation on time, resulting in inadvertent delay."

The NCB SIT also indicated that it is still investigating Kiran P Gosavi (the man who took a viral selfie with Aryan Khan) and panch witness Prabhakar Sail, who has apparently become hostile. Sail said that he overheard a phone call involving a bribery scheme for Rs 25 crore.

The Mumbai Police declared in December that they had found no proof of extortion in the cruise drugs case, in which the celebrity youngster was arrested. The verdict was announced by Special Judge VV Patil under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The Bombay High Court granted bail to Aryan Khan and two others on October 28, stating that there was no prima facie evidence that the three were involved in the alleged plot in the case.

On the night of October 2, the NCB claimed to have disrupted an alleged narcotics party on the cruise liner, which was on its route to Goa, and confiscated illicit substances.
