'Anupamaa': This actor might step in to play Vanraj as Sudhanshu Pandey announces his exit

In the Star Plus’s popular show Anupamaa: You won't be seeing Sudhanshu Pandey's angry, frowning face on your TV screens anymore as the actor has revealed his departure from Anupamaa.

The show is now gearing up for a major shift with Sudhanshu Pandey bidding farewell to his role as Vanraj Shah. As per details from Times Now / Telly Talk India, the makers have reached out to actor Pankit Thakker to take on the role of Shah. Thakker has apparently undergone a screen test for the character recently.

Reports indicate that the producers were highly impressed with his portrayal and are giving serious thought to casting him for the role. This news follows Pandey's announcement of leaving the show on Thursday, creating anticipation among fans regarding the fate of his character. Notably, Thakker has showcased his talent in shows like Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, Dill Mill Gayye, and Tara From Satara.

Pandey disclosed his departure from Anupamaa via an Instagram video, conveying his appreciation for the affection and backing he garnered during his portrayal of Vanraj. With a heavy heart, he stated, "I want to inform all of you that I am no longer associated with the Anupamaa show." Additionally, he assured his audience of his commitment to entertaining them in future roles. Speculations suggest that Pandey exited following a rumored disagreement with the producer.

Anupamaa is produced by Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi under the Director's Kut Productions banner. The series, featuring Rupali Ganguly, Madalsa Sharma, and Gaurav Khanna in pivotal roles, has continuously topped the TRP charts since its debut. Among the departed actors are Paras Kalnawat (Samar) and Aneri Vajani (Malvika), who opted to venture into new career opportunities.
