Anupamaa: After Zalak Desai and Alka Kaushal, NEW characters set to join the show, expanding Prem's family

Star Plus' show Anupamaa took a significant leap with a complete revamp of its cast, and it has been making headlines ever since. One of the biggest changes that grabbed attention was the replacement of Alisha Parveen, who originally played the role of Adhya/Rahi in the series.

After Alisha's exit, Adrija Roy stepped into the role of Rahi, bringing a fresh dynamic to the character. In the ongoing track, Adrija Roy, Shivam Khajuria, and Spreha Chatterjee are delving into the complex relationships between Prem, Rahi, and Mahi. Meanwhile, the show is unravelling the mystery of Prem's hidden family, the Kotharis.

Previously, we reported that Prem is not an orphan as initially believed but instead hails from a wealthy family with a businessman father. The first family member introduced was Prem's sister, Prathna, played by Sheersha Tiwari. Following her, Zalak Desai was cast as Prem's mother, Khyaati Kothari, and recently, Alka Kaushal joined as Moti Baa, Prem's grandmother.

Soon, actor Rahil Azam will make his entry into the show as Prem’s father, a wealthy businessman. Additionally, Mazher Sayed and Shiwani Chakraborty are set to join Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi's show Anupamaa. They will portray Prem's chacha and chachi, further expanding the grand and joint Kothari family.

On the professional front, Mazher Sayed is a versatile actor, best known for his portrayal of Anish in Ekta Kapoor's hit thriller series Kaahin Kissii Roz. In addition to his work in various television shows, he has also appeared in episodic roles for Saavdhaan India and Crime Patrol. Meanwhile, Shiwani Chakraborty recently garnered attention for her performance in the Colors TV show Maati Se Bandhi Dor.

In the ongoing storyline of Anupamaa, Anupama has already crossed paths with Khyaati, unaware that she is Prem's mother. Khyaati entrusts her family's upcoming pooja contract to Anu Ki Rasoi, setting the stage for further twists. Adding to the intrigue, Anupama is about to meet Prem's grandmother, but this encounter takes a shocking turn, leading to a heated confrontation. This raises concerns about whether Anupama might lose the contract.

The mystery surrounding why Prem has kept his family a secret and why he left his home remains unsolved. However, the makers have been dropping subtle hints. In recent episodes, it was implied that Prem had a troubled childhood, witnessing his mother pleading with his father to stay amidst his father's violent behaviour. While the full truth is yet to be revealed, Prem's soft spot for his mother and sister, Prathna, suggests that his father, whom he refers to as "Khalnayak," may be the reason he abandoned his wealthy family and chose a simpler life.
