Angelina Jolie Speaks Out on "Liars" Following Finalized Divorce from Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie, 49, is sharing her candid thoughts just days after her eight-year legal battle with Brad Pitt culminated in a finalized divorce. In a revealing cover story for W Magazine's "Best Performances" issue, the Oscar-winning actress addressed a range of topics, including her "pet peeves."

“So many things. But my pet peeve is somebody who is a liar,” Jolie stated. The Maria star elaborated, “Somebody who feels a need to not say the truth or what they want, what they feel. There's a big version of that — and I'm not trying to be heavy about it — but people who say one thing and mean another, who aren't completely who they are. I think a lot of people don't say what they mean.”

While Jolie did not directly name anyone, her comments arrive shortly after her divorce from Pitt was finalized. The high-profile split, which began with an official filing in September 2016, has been fraught with legal and personal disputes.

Jolie's lawyer, James Simon of Hersh Mannis, shared that the actress is "focused on finding peace and healing for their family," adding, "Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

A source close to Jolie told People that she hopes Pitt “moves on” and “stops attacking her” in the wake of their divorce. The insider claimed, “Brad has successfully used his power and his privilege to cover up his conduct at his family’s expense, to punish Angelina for leaving, and even to attempt to paint her as the reason why his relationship is so challenging with the children.”

The source further stated, “Angelina hopes the finalization of their divorce will enable him to move on, stop attacking her, and instead help heal their family.”

On the other hand, a source close to Pitt countered these claims, alleging that Jolie has been engaging in “one-sided attacks for the past eight years, including a never-ending distortion of facts and projecting their own behaviour onto others, causing tremendous collateral damage to those in and around the family."

While the divorce is legally settled, the former couple continues to battle over their French winery, Château Miraval. Pitt filed a separate lawsuit in October 2021, alleging that Jolie breached an agreement by selling her share of the winery for $67 million without his consent.

With both parties locked in a series of ongoing disputes, the public eye remains fixed on the evolving post-divorce dynamics of Hollywood’s once-golden couple.
