This weekend on
Amul STAR Voice of India will be an affair to remember as bollywood's heartthrob
Shahid Kapoor
will mesmerize one and all with his dancing skills while also
displaying his singing prowess. The theme being old songs v/s new songs
will have the contestants taking the viewers down the memory lane as
they sing the golden oldies while also singing foot-tapping
contemporary numbers to entertain the audiences.
Keeping the flavor of the festive season of Navratri,

the contestants begin with a medley of songs like
Main to bhool chali, Hey naam Re, Dholi Taro.
All the boys dance with the only girl in the contest. The contestants
are amazed at Shahid's down to earth nature as he interacts with them
without having any qualms and is seen having fun with them while they
are performing. When asked about the various trends in music the actor
said "nothing can replace the golden age of music, but every generation
takes the music forward; hence it is important that there is a good
balance between old and new songs."

The contestants sang golden favorites like
Gulabi Ankhen, Aaj kal tere mere, O Haseena Zulfo Wali, Ruk Jaana O Jaana, Rafta Rafta, and O Mere Sona re Sona. Shahid was bowled
over
by Priyani's voice and suggested that she should sing some of the songs
for his heroines in the near future. On Irfan's request, Shahid comes
and sets the stage ablaze by dancing to the song
Aaja Ve Mahi and when the Punjab da Puttar Ishmeet asks him to join in to sing
Mauja Mauja, Shahid surprises everybody with his singing talent.

Saturday evening is a
'sher o shayari' &
Qawalli special
with Music Maestros Ustad Amjad Ali and
Pankaj Udhas as celebrity
guests. The sets are designed to create a Mehfil ambience and the
contestants are dressed for the occasion. The five finalists begin with
the famous qawalli
'Hai agar Dushman...' that leaves everybody spell-bound. Qawallis being the forte of Toshi, sings
Allah hu
to perfection, showing his command over songs of this genre. All judges
are in a trance and praise him saying 'Zuban Allah'. Ismeet sings
Yaari Hai Imaan, while young Abhaas
sings
Yeh Ishq Ishq Hai with Panache.

When Hyderabad lad Irfan sang
Piya Haji Ali, he created an
'Ibadat ka mahaul' leaving everyone spiritually satiated. Harshit with his strong voice sang
