Megastar Amitabh Bachchan who had contracted the novel Coronavirus and was admitted in Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital has been finally given the green signal from the doctors and sent home. From the last 23 days, Big B was receiving treatment for COVID- 19 and now after all his test reports came negative, he has been given discharge.
On July 11, 2020 the 77-year-old actor announced on his social media account that he had tested positive for the virus and was in hospital. Soon after the veteran actor announced, his son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, announced that he too had tested positive and was also in the same hospital.
Now, sharing an update about Big B's health, Abhishek Bachchan tweeted: "My father, thankfully, has tested negative on his latest COVID-19 test and has been discharged from the hospital. He will now be at home and rest. Thank you all for all your prayers and wishes for him."
Amitabh Bachchan too took to his Twitter and posted about his recovery, "I have tested CoVid- have been discharged. I am back home in solitary quarantine. Grace of the Almighty, blessings of Ma Babuji, prayers & duas of near & dear & friends fans EF .. and the excellent care and nursing at Nanavati made it possible for me to see this day."
In a separate tweet, Abhishek shared that he again tested positive for the virus and he will remain in the hospital, "I, unfortunately, due to some comorbidities remain COVID-19 positive and remain in hospital. Again, thank you all for your continued wishes and prayers for my family. Very humbled and indebted. I'll beat this and come back healthier! Promise."
Abhishek's wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also tested positive and was isolated at home, the actor revealed on July 12. Aishwarya was moved to hospital a week later and discharged on July 27. Amitabh Bachchan's wife Jaya Bachchan tested negative.
