Amitabh Bachchan Responds to Critics: Why He Continues to Work Even at 81

Amitabh Bachchan, at 81, remains as active as ever, continuing to take on new projects. Recently, the legendary actor addressed the questions many have posed about why he continues to work at his age. In a heartfelt note on his blog, Amitabh made it clear that his reasons for working are personal and may not align with others' perspectives.

He shared that people often ask him on set why he is still working. His response is simple yet profound—it's just another job opportunity. He explained, “They keep asking me on set of work…the reason for me to be working…and I have no answers for this, except it’s another job opportunity for me.” Amitabh emphasized that everyone has the right to their own opinions, but his reasons for working are his own.

Amitabh further elaborated that his work is something given to him, and it's his choice to continue. He mentioned that while others may build their own assumptions, his motivations are “enclosed, shuttered, and locked.” He posed a rhetorical question to his critics, “Got a problem with that? Well then…get to work and find out.”

Currently, Amitabh is busy with several projects. He is hosting the 16th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) and was last seen in the film Kalki 2898 AD, a mythology-inspired sci-fi film set in the future. He is also working on Vettaiyan alongside Rajinikanth, which is set for an October release. Despite his age, Amitabh Bachchan continues to work with passion, showing no signs of slowing down.
