It was just a few weeks ago, when Ananya Panday, who made her debut last year with Student Of The Year 2, was trolled mercilessly for her comments on Nepotism. During the recent actor’s roundtable, the newbie was slammed left, right and center when she compared struggle with a “Dharma movie” and being on “Koffee With Karan”. She had even faced a savage reply by Siddhant Chaturvedi in his epic MC Sher style, which had gone viral over the Internet.
Besides, the newest starkid on the block, Alaya F, who is the daughter of Pooja Bedi, is making her big Bollywood debut with Saif Ali Khan and Tabu starrer Jawaani Jaaneman. As obvious as it can get, she was quizzed about her views on Nepotism, to which she agreed that star kids are privileged as compared to outsiders, but that should not stop one from working hard.
We need to realize that even in our struggle, we are privileged. If we got rejected in 10 auditions, someone else has got the thumbs down 100 times. Their struggle is greater than ours. But just because I’m privileged, doesn’t mean that I’m not going to do what I love and work hard at it.
- Alaya told Mumbai Mirror
Speaking of Jawaani Jaaneman, the comedy-drama stars Saif Ali Khan as a 40-year-old father and debutant Alaya Furniturewala as his daughter, alongside Tabu. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film is slated to release on 7 February 2020.
