Aishwarya refuses SRK

Bollywood babes are no strangers to throwing their weight around, so here goes another nakhra tale to add to the list.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who seems to have acquired a reputation for being protective about her family, has now refused to share the stage with Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh had planned a special gig on the industry's leading ladies, for which he requested Aish to dance with him on her hit song "Kajra Re" from the film Bunty Aur Babli.

Mrs. Bachchan Junior turned down the request with the somber and dutiful excuse of "Kajra Re" being a family song (as one shall recall the presence of the two Bachchan males alongside this former beauty queen) and that it wasn't possible for her to consent to performing it any other way. (Exactly when fictional creations started bearing family heirloom copyrights, we never did discover!)

Anyways, so Aishwarya's firm refusal forced Shah Rukh to scrap the plan altogether. Not to mention the disappointment it is likely to cause many fans who loved their pairing in films like Josh, Mohabbatein, and Devdas.

It shall remain to be seen if such "all in the family" attitude will limit the bustling career of our fair lady who shall be scaling the formidable forties in about a couple years now.
