After Ramayan, Mahabharat ,' Chanakya' to return on Television!

Joining the list of reruns on Doordarshan is another cult classic from the golden era of Indian television.  'Chanakya' the cult classic of 47 episodes, directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, has been planned for daily telecast in the afternoon time band of DD Bharti from the first week of April.

'Chanakya' is the fictionalized version of the life-history of an economist, strategist and political theorist Chanakya, who was also the royal advisor of King Chandragupta Maurya.

Also, we hear the superhero show, 'Shaktimaan' that aired on DD 1 will also air from the first week of April. The show had a strong fanbase among children.

Already Doordarshan has started reruns of popular shows of that time which includes 'Circus' starring Shah Rukh Khan, and also 'Byomkesh Bakshi'.
