After Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, fans speculate Kasautii Zindagii Kay’s return on television

Yesterday Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’s 2 promo got released giving fans a nostalgia feel of 90s TV shows. Post this, it appears Ekta Kapoor is considering a revival of Kasautii Zindagii Kay for television. On Tuesday, Balaji Telefilms, Ekta's production house, shared a video montage on its official Instagram handle featuring Shweta Tiwari, Cezanne Khan, and Urvashi Dholakia from Kasautii Zindagii Kay. They portrayed Prerna, Anurag Basu, and Komolika, respectively, in the show.

The video montage, accompanied by the title track, also included Ronit Roy, who introduced a significant twist as Mr. Bajaj in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Additionally, it offered a glimpse of Jennifer Winget as Sneha Bajaj from the show.

Sharing the video, Balaji Telefilms wrote, “When love battled destiny, and every emotion felt raw, Kasautii Zindagii Kay redefined what a classic could be🌟."

Following the post's release, social media users quickly flooded the comments section, speculating whether Ekta plans to revive "Kasautii Zindagii Kay" with the original Prerna and Anurag. "Please bring back this masterpiece," one user commented. Another inquired, "Kasautii Zindagii Kay ko bhi leke aao please" third user wrote,"We want the exact cast in the show please Ekta Kapoor hear us."

Kasautii Zindagii Kay enjoyed a successful run on television from October 2001 to February 2008. The show was revived with a second season in 2018, featuring a new cast: Erica Fernandes as Prerna, Parth Samthaan as Anurag, Karan Singh Grover as Mr. Bajaj, and Hina Khan as Komolika.

Following months of eager anticipation, the premiere date for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 has finally been confirmed. Star Plus has officially announced that the highly-anticipated sequel will debut on July 29, 2025, at 10:30 PM.

The video features a family reminiscing about the original series while dining at a restaurant. The scene shifts to Tulsi, played by Smriti Irani, tending to a tulsi plant, as she makes a dramatic return, declaring, "Kya aap abhi bhi vishwaas nahi kar paa rahe?"

While watering a tulsi plant, she smiles, looks directly into the camera, and says, "Zaroor aaoongi, kyuki humara 25 saalon ka rishta jo hai. Waqt aagaya hai apse phir milne ka (I'll definitely come because we have a relationship of 25 years. The time has come to meet you again)."

She confirms the return of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi after 25 years, promising a brand-new story. The caption stated: "25 saal ke baad, Tulsi Virani laut rahi hai, ek nayi kahaani ke saath! Kyunki ek baar phir tayyar hai har ghar ka hissa banne."
