After roping in Amit Dhawan to play the pivotal role of Kaikeyi's brother, Yudhajeet on Star Plus' show 'Siya Ke Ram', the makers have now roped in Arup Pal to essay a powerful character on the show.

Arup will be seen as Ashwapati, the grandfather of Dashrath (Dalip Tahil), who would want him to learn the art of war and take the prodigy of their heritage ahead, while Dashrath will be seen showing an inclination towards painting. While Ashwapati will showcase a positive personality initially, Arup's character will eventually turn grey.

When we contacted Arup, he confirmed doing the show and stated, "Having been a part of shows such as 'Bharat Ka Veer Putra - Maharana Pratap' on Sony TV and 'Ishq ka Rang Safed' on Colors, I have got a hang of doing historical shows. So I guess it will not be very difficult for me to project the character. I am very excited as I have never been to Ramoji studio and I am looking forward to have a wonderful time shooting for the show."
