Adolescence 2 in Making? Brad Pitt’s Production House May Join Hands with Netflix Creators

The Netflix series Adolescence became a huge hit just after its release. With only four episodes, it managed to leave a strong impact on the audience. Now, there is exciting news for the fans. Hollywood actor Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, is in early talks with the creators of the series for its second season.

Adolescence tells the intense story of a teenage boy, played by Owen Cooper, who is accused of murdering a female classmate. The show deeply explores legal battles and emotional trauma, while raising questions around gender-based violence. Within just one week of release, the series became one of the most-watched shows on Netflix and currently holds the fourth spot in the U.K. ranking.

As per a report by Deadline, Plan B’s co-presidents, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, have spoken about the possibility of a second season. Gardner shared in an interview that they are brainstorming ideas with the director of the series. She said they are planning the next season in such a way that it continues the gripping story while keeping it fresh and not repetitive. Gardner said, “We can widen the aperture, stay true to its DNA, [and] not be repetitive.”

Jeremy Kleiner also added that they are hopeful the original creators Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham will return for the next season. He said he really wants both of them to be on board again.

Talking about the unique style of the show, the producers mentioned how the one-take episodes were not done just for style. They explained, “Phil’s style of doing the episodes in one take is not a gimmick. It’s very much in conversation with the subject matter.”

The success of the show proves that audiences are ready for bold stories told in powerful ways. With talks already happening, fans are now eagerly waiting for an official announcement about Adolescence season 2. All four episodes of Adolescence are currently streaming on Netflix.
