When asked about the process of moving between characters, Aditya shared his perspective, "For me, it's not difficult to move on. You know, there is always a switch-on and switch-off mechanism. And I think that is the most important key element. One should not get stuck in their character."
He credits his ability to fully embody a role while knowing when to step away. "I can easily switch on and switch off because I completely become that character. The moment I take off the clothes of that character and put on my own clothes, I can just be Aditya Deshmukh at that particular moment. Then I become who I really am."
Aditya also spoke about his admiration for method actors, stating, "I know there are many method actors out there who work on themselves, on the same characters for years, and I really appreciate them. I have immense respect for them, and I admire their work a lot."
For Aditya, the secret to delivering fresh and engaging performances lies in the script. "Actually, it always comes down to the freshness in the writing. I would say the credit always goes to the writers. The real hero of any movie is the writing, the storytelling."
His analytical approach to preparing for roles is evident in his process. "When I start working on a project, I read the script, ask my directors questions, and talk to the producers to understand how relatable it all is. Then I begin working on it—reading the lines, contemplating the character. I also watch films, interviews that are relatable to the character I'm playing. I try to understand the nuances and speak to the creative team."
With over 11 years of experience in the industry, Aditya recognizes the need for introspection and self-awareness in his craft. "This is the kind of work we've chosen, and I understand how challenging it is. But you have to do some self-analysis, too," he concluded thoughtfully.
