Actors who work in Dhanush's films get exposure: Adith

Actor Adith, who will be seen essaying a pivotal role in forthcoming Tamil entertainer "Thanga Magan", says that actors who work with Dhanush get incredible exposure and reach.

Actor Adith, who will be seen essaying a pivotal role in forthcoming Tamil entertainer "Thanga Magan", says that actors who work with Dhanush get incredible exposure and reach.

In "Thanga Magan", which releases in cinemas on Friday, Dhanush plays the lead role.

"Even if I were to pay money to work in the film, I wouldn't have missed the opportunity. Actors who work in Dhanush's films get lot of exposure and reach, which you rarely get anywhere else," Adith told IANS.

He plays Dhanush's cousin in the film, which is directed by R. Velraj. It also features Amy Jackson and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in important roles.

"It's a lovely story about two cousins. I play a character with negative shades," said Adith, and clarified that his role can't be described as the antagonist.

"It's not a typical Dhanush film with a villain. I've always craved to do good roles and it didn't matter whether I was playing the lead or not. This is a family drama with quintessential elements required to appeal to the masses," he said.

Having starred in lead roles so far in Tamil and Telugu films such as "Inidhu Inidhua, "Katha" and "Weekend Love", Adith is joining the big league with "Thanga Magan".

He's gung-ho and recalls working with Dhanush as great learning experience.

"Working with Dhanush is like being in an acting workshop. There's so much to learn each day on the sets. He's a quick worker and usually doesn't like to delay shoot. It wasn't easy to match his standards," he said, adding that he's also a workaholic.

"Dhanush likes to work and work. I've seen big actors taking a break from work to relax, but Dhanush is always working. When he's not acting, he's busy writing songs or doing something else. It's always work on his mind," he revealed.

Adith is also in awe of Dhanush's popularity.

"We were shooting in Darjeeling a day after the Nepal earthquake. Despite the disaster, people were so excited to see Dhanush, and he was mobbed by thousands who showed up to watch the shooting," he said.

The film, which also features K.S. Ravikumar, Radikaa Sarath Kumar and Satish, has music by Anirudh Ravichander.

"It was equally rewarding to work with veterans Ravikumar sir and Radikaa ma'am. When you do good work amongst them, it gets noticed even though I'm the youngest on the sets and least experienced," he said.

Adith hopes "Thanga Magan" catapults him great heights in Tamil filmdom. He currently has two Telugu projects in his kitty.
