Actor Alankrita Sahai robbed of Rs. 6.5 lakh at knifepoint in Chandigarh

Actor Alankrita Sahai, who is best known for her role in the film, Namaste England starring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra found herself in a totally unanticipated situation that went awry. The actor was held at knifepoint at her residence in Chandigarh and robbed of Rs. 6.5 lakh on Tuesday.

According to Indian Express, three people entered her rented apartment at 12.30 pm and held her hostage. The report says that one of them took her ATM card and withdrew Rs. 50,000 while others stayed with her to keep a watch.

Reports suggest that Sahai suspects one of them to be the same person who delivered furniture to her place over the weekend. The report further said that Sahai cried for help and the thieves then escaped through the balcony. Senior police officers were seen rushing to her residence. It is also reported that the robbers were caught on the CCTV camera that is installed in the neighborhood.

An official told the news portal that the victim, who belongs to the film industry, was alone at home. The entry door was opened, the thieves ‘forcibly entered’ her house and robbed her. They have registered a case. Reports also suggest that the actress argued with one of the furniture delivery persons over the weekend.
