Tell us a bit about your character. Can you relate to it?
Saina is basically from Chandigarh and belongs to a rich family. She doesn't have any family pressure for pursuing IIT but just because she has been dumped, she wants to crack IIT to prove that she is beauty with brains and not dumb. She is quite chilled out and is pursuing her IIT in a very relaxed way, without being pressurized by anyone. She is the diva of the college, who is self absorbed and spoilt. She is a lot into herself and her appearance. Beauty is everything for her.
I can relate to Saina in real life too. I am quite self obsessed like her. Whenever I get time, I am always into grooming myself. A lot of people used to tell me that you are beautiful and you should go for acting.
So how did acting happen to you?
I haven't done any course in acting or theater. I have done one short film before this and the response was so good that I started giving auditions and then I started doing commercials and did some episodic series as well. This is my first show.
Did you find acting tough as you have not done any acting course or theater?
Initially, I thought that it will be tough for me but I was
quite confident. I wanted to be an actress since I was in school. I think that
acting is something which cannot be taught. If there is a scope of acting in
you and you are confident then you can do it. Courses can just groom your
skills but can't teach you. I did few episodic series to gain experience. I
always wanted to play my age or a role younger than me. I was getting offers
for leads but I didn't want to do the saas
bahu roles at this age. That's why I waited a lot. This show is perfect for
me and I think that any girl would like to start off her acting career with a
character like this, that I am playing on the show.
