Aamir Khan on hardships of 'Andaz Apna Apna': "There was a lot of tension between Karisma & Raveena, it got.."

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently opened up about his experience working on the 1994 comedy film Andaz Apna Apna during an interview at the India Today Conclave. The actor, who has spent six decades in the industry, shared some interesting behind-the-scenes stories, calling the making of the film a "tough time."

While discussing the film, Aamir revealed that despite the fun and humor seen on screen, the production process was far from smooth. He recalled how he was the only actor who consistently arrived on set on time, which made things difficult. Additionally, he mentioned that co-stars Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon were not on good terms during the shoot. This led to scheduling conflicts as one would arrive while the other left, making it a major challenge to complete the film.

"There was a lot of tension between Karisma and Raveena," Aamir shared. I often wondered how the film would be completed when they weren’t willing to shoot together. It was tough, but we managed, Aamir said.

Despite these challenges, Aamir always had faith in the movie. He described Andaz Apna Apna as a "wacky and mad" film that he thoroughly enjoyed being a part of. At the time of its release, both he and Salman Khan were at the peak of their careers, and expectations were high. However, to everyone’s surprise, the movie failed at the box office and was pulled from theaters within a week. "I was shocked because I genuinely believed it was a great film," Aamir admitted. "But sometimes, films take time to find their audience."

Over the years, Andaz Apna Apna gained immense popularity through television and home entertainment. Audiences grew to love its quirky humor, unforgettable characters, and iconic dialogues. Today, it is regarded as one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedy films, watched and cherished by multiple generations.

As for Aamir’s future ventures, he is set to appear in Sitaare Zameen Par, alongside Genelia Deshmukh. While the release date is yet to be announced, fans eagerly await his next cinematic offering.
