The use of plastic has comparatively declined ever since the BMC had banned the use of plastic. The implementation of this movement has been a success as the aftermath showed the required results at the ground level itself.
Now, Prime Minister of India - Narendra Modi announced a ‘new mass movement’ which discards the ‘single-use’ of plastic. The campaign is all set to be implied on October 2, 2019 i.e. the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The strategically planned move has roped all India’s attention towards the BJP led government.
And while the common man has come out in support of Modi’s anti-plastic movement, how could Bollywood actors fail to offer their support to the master puppeteer?
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan too has come forward to support PM Modi. The 54-year-old actor took to his social media and shared a post applauding the initiative.
He wrote: “The initiative by Honourable PM to curb ‘single-use plastic’ is an effort all of us should strongly support. It’s up to each of us to make sure we stop using ‘single-use plastic.”

In his announcement, PM Modi was quoted saying, “This year, when we celebrate Bapu's 150th birth anniversary, we shall not only dedicate to him an India that is Open Defecation Free but shall also lay the foundation of a new revolution against plastic, by people themselves, throughout the country. Let us celebrate Gandhi Jayanti this year as a mark of plastic-free Mother India. Let us celebrate October 2 as a special day.”
There have been various sectors amidst the nation where plastic has been used profoundly. And the corporate sector has been one of them. Addressing the full-fledged market, he further added that they should come up with effective solutions for the proper disposal of all the accumulated plastic.
Many actors have repeatedly spoken up in order to raise awareness for climate change and cleaning the areas in their vicinity. And Aamir Khan is one of the few actors who has worked at a ground level knows why it is important to stop the use of plastic.
