A story where love is just a mere achievement

Many a times, people are tricked and misled in the name of love and so was Gareth, a student from Mumbai who was always bullied by his seniors for being overweight. During one such occasion, Gareth was put into a situation where he had to approach a girl and complete his task, which was a little embarrassing in nature. While he approached many girls, all they did was just made fun of him, but surprisingly there was one girl who came to his rescue, Sayani. She was smart and attractive girl. Gareth instantly fell in love with her and eventually they started dating.

In the beginning, Gareth was really happy with Sayani, but at the same time he was insecure about their relationship. He was low on confidence and thought that Sayani would never introduce him to her friends. But, on the contrary, he was surprised when Sayani introduced him to her friend circle. While this should have given him relief, he became all the more anxious and felt there was something between Sayani and her friend, Ankit. In an attempt to become more like him, Gareth tried everything from gym to basketball in order to lose weight.

Gareth used to make all the efforts to keep the relationship going, but his insecurities were growing every day. Once, when he went to Sayani's place to surprise her, he saw her with another guy, Pulkit. At that moment, he was upset and decided to confront Pulkit and warned him to stay away from Sayani. Enraged, Gareth decided to investigate the matter further, just to uncover some harsh realities which left him heartbroken.

What was the truth about Sayani that left Gareth shocked and upset? Why did Sayani give him a hand when everyone mocked him?
