A Chat with the First Finalists of Nach Baliye 3, Aamir and Sanjeeda

They looked blissful as their names were announced to be the first finalists of Nach Baliye 3. The by far good-looking couple of the season, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Aamir Ali were on top of the world after the shoot of the Friday episode. We later caught them relaxing in their make up van, still looking dazed after the good news. Life is beautiful, isn't it? "Yes, I feel I have already won the finals," says Aamir while Sanjeeda continues to beam by his side. Did they expect to hear their names? "Yes, all the four couples were expecting to hear their names. There was a possibility of making it to the finals, but that we are the first jodi to have got the highest vote
makes us happy," says Aamir.

Aamir thinks it's their "maa ki dua" that have got them a place in the finals. Ask him if the show has brought them closer and he looks lovingly at Sanjeeda who is so shy that she prefers to just smile and grin letting her boyfriend do all the talking. Familiarity has definitely not bred contempt for this couple. "It could have, given the hours we were spending with each other. But, no, it has only brought us closer. We are more comfortable now in each other's presence. Nach Baliye has definitely strengthened our relationship," says Aamir.

The couple says that they never believed in thinking how far they will reach in the contest. "We were happy living in the moment. We took each day, each episode than fretting about the finals," speaks Sanjeeda finally. She adds, "I still remember in the very first episode all the couples were asked who they thought was tough competition and no one took our names. We were not expected to reach this far."

May be the perception was Sanjeeda was a fine dancer while Aamir, Mr Two Left Feet. "Oh yes! Completely. In fact I knew if we got voted out then it would have been because of me alone," says Aamir to which Sanjeeda says, "No, but I am proud of you. Didn't you get 30 marks in
the solo round?" Aamir says, "Unlike others who are known as item girls and have done professional shows, Sanjeeda is not a dancer by profession. She likes to dance, that's all. I am not hinting at Rakhi or Kashmera. I am just stating a fact. I guess people liked us because we were the underdogs.We were here only to dance and not prove anything to anyone."

Finally, is marriage on the cards? Sanjeeda blushes while Aamir simply laughs and says, "Personal questions embarrass me. I can't handle them." On that note, we leave the much-in-love couple to bask in their glory a little more.
