A break down of Bade Bhaiya Ki Dulhaniya's core concept!

Sony TV has come up with a new show called Bade Bhaiya Ki Dulhania. The story of this show revolves around Abhishek, a boy who lives in a family of 14 people! All of these fourteen people are completely different from each other. The show is based during the time when the family is trying to get the boy married. (After having rejected 12 girls already)

With such a big family comes a lot of demands regarding their future 'bahu.' Each family member has at least two or three demands. For example, the bahu should be a good cook but she should also manage to cook with the limited supplies and within a fixed budget, and at the same time she should cook for a large number of people! The girl should be strong but she should also be delicate with a certain demeanor! She should pay attention to the elders of the house and also gel well with the kids. The girl should be both modern and conservative at the same time!

As you can see, a lot of these demands contradict each other! So basically, the demands of the family suggest that they want a super-woman as their bahu. This is also made clear when the lyrics of the title song say "Bade Bhaiya Ki Dulhania, Hogi Superwomania!"

The girl that they are going to get is a total brat on the other hand and is almost good for nothing - Meera, the daughter of a very rich bureaucratic family that has a lot of talented people. The girl can't cook, is bad at studies, is very modern and has no goals! It would be fun to watch how the family actually accepts Meera!

In the real world, situations are quite different. It is very hard to find a woman who excels at all aspects of home-making. We honestly feel that it is almost impossible to find a woman with more than 40 tip top qualities! She may be a jack of all but the master of none and this is where we men can't beat women.
