67 challans issued against vehicles entering Games lane

New Delhi, Oct 11 (IANS) Delhi Traffic Police Monday issued challans against 67 vehicles for entering the lane reserved for Commonwealth Games vehicles.

New Delhi, Oct 11 (IANS) Delhi Traffic Police Monday issued challans against 67 vehicles for entering the lane reserved for Commonwealth Games vehicles.

'No notice has been issued against any vehicles and only one vehicle was impounded,' said a senior police official.

Till Monday, the traffic police had issued challans against 1847 vehicles for entering the Games lane. A total of 293 notices have been issued and 26 vehicles have been impounded.

The restrictions were enforced on Sep 23, and will continue till Oct 16 -- two days after the Commonwealth Games conclude.

The Games lane violators are imposed a fine of Rs.2,000. Over 6,500 athletes from 71 teams are participating in the sporting event.
