The first thrilling investigative series on Indian Television, is today
one of the most popular shows on Sony Entertainment Television.
Dramatic and absolutely unpredictable, C.I.D. has captivated viewers
over the last 10 years and continues to keep audiences glued to their
television sets with its thrilling plots and excitement. Also
interwoven in its fast paced plots are the personal challenges that the
C.I.D. team faces with non-stop adventure, tremendous pressure and
risk, all in the name of duty. The series consists of hard-core police procedural stories dealing with investigation, detection and suspense. The protagonists of the serial are an elite group of police officers belonging to the Crime Investigation Department of the police force, led by ACP Pradyuman (played by the dynamic Shivaji Satam). While the stories are plausible, there is an emphasis on dramatic plotting and technical complexities faced by the police. At every stage, the plot throws up intriguing twists and turns keeping the officers on the move as they track criminals, led by the smallest of clues!!
CID Special Bureau
One of the longest running and the most popular shows on Sony
Entertainment Television, CID has provided the TV viewer with a staple
dose of investigative drama over the last seven years. Be it unraveling
the mystery of a homicide or prevention of a high-tech bank robbery,
CID has done it all. But what about the cases that couldn't be solved
and are gathering dust for years in the files of bureaucracy? What
about the criminals still at large who couldn't be brought to book?
This is where 'CID Special Bureau' steps in. 'CID Special Bureau' is a show about a team of dedicated cops who specialise in solving dormant and unsolved cases using a mix of new age technology and classical investigative wisdom. A 'spin off', as the format is known in the West, 'CID Special Bureau' offers a different aspect of crime and investigation to the viewers of 'CID' who have been craving for more of their favourite show. The show takes an emotional approach to unsolved cases where the families of the victims are forced to go through the haunting agony of losing there loved ones and not getting justice. The 'Special Bureau' team takes on the uphill task of digging through the layers of time and reach the core of the crimes.
'CID special Bureau' consists of seven officers from different functions and disciplines within the department. Their areas of expertise range from advanced forensic techniques such as ballistics, DNA testing, Carbon dating etc. to graphology and clinical psychology. The fact that they come from different backgrounds enables them to complement each others' strengths in a unique way.
Coming from the makers of 'CID' and 'Aahat', this biweekly show approaches the genre of investigative fiction with a dash of reality and makes a great weekday viewing for the whole family. Visual recreation of a crime as the layers of mystery gradually open in the course of investigation, make the show a class apart from other shows in the genre. The endearing characters remind one of the hugely popular CID characters who have been household names for the whole nation for more than half a decade... and one belief binds them together.... 'no case is closed until solved'
However CID Special Bureau airs no longer... but repeats sometimes on SAB TV.
