A Father took his child to a baseball game and bought him a lemonade; which turned out to have alcahol in it (You might be wondering if there was a price difference- but ball game drinks start at $7.00; so you really cannot tell). The son began feeling dizzy and starteed to vomit. His dad rushed him to emergency where he was treated. Now child services have hold of child and the father is being monitered. The father is furious and wants his child back. (Z103.5: The Morning Show with Scott Fox)

Do you think that child services has a right to take the child away?

The dad did not know that this drink contained alcahol so no i think child services has no right to take his son away. The father should be more careful though while buying drinks from now though.

Well, I think that the child protective services are doing the right thing by monitoring the dad. I've heard of many things cases where a child has been abused by his/her own father. Although this was not done intentionally by the dad, it did happen and an investigation is only for the safety of the child. If it's proved that the dad is indeed innocent, the child should then be returned to him and yes, he should take precautions in future and make sure this does not happen again.

Well, if the father did it unknowingly then the child should not be seperated from the father, everyone makes msitakes.

WTH Father did not know that the lemonade he ordered would be served as beer. And if child did not mention drink tasting different or funny how was father to know any different.

I don't think child should be taken away from father by child protective services IMHO.

I equate this action by child services to the police holding a rape victim responsible for drinking something with a date rape drug in it 😕

They shouldn't be going after the dad ... the man was obviously responsible enough to rush his child to the hospital as soon as he starting feeling dizzy and vomiting (instead of brushing it off to watch the game 😛).
Instead, the focus should be on the irresponsible vendor/sellers whose actions led to this event. Who know how many others were similarly intoxicated.

kids despise the bitterness associated with alcohols.. I cant understand how the kid good guzzle the whole beer and not knowing it wasnt lemonade.. slightly . far fetched.. I think the social services should intervene the father was doing something on purpose......

It must have been Mike's hard lemonade. It's very Dangerade. Accidental servings of alcohol are not wrong, but social services are a pain; too much illogical bureaucracy.

It was unfortunate that the kid threw up with just a drink. I pity the kind of man he will grow up to be.
