Kripa Sharma went and sat on the bar. It was New Year's Eve. Everyone had a date, someone they loved beside them. She felt like she was the only single person at the party. She hadn't met anyone who she felt like she could love for the last two years. She wished she had someone who cared about her, who loved her, who she could spend the rest of her life with.
Bar Tender- What can I get you ma'am?
Kripa- Any alcoholic beverage and please, make it very strong
Bar Tender- Coming right up
The bar tender slid her he drink as Kripa took a big gulp. She thought she heard someone say her name, but ignored it as she was too busy engrossed her in misery and drink. But she heard it again. She turned her head as her eyes widened, it was him.
She looked into his gray eyes. They were still the same they were two years ago, but even more intense. His hair was perfectly gelled, like it always was. He had grew a stubble, which made him look even more handsome then he already was. She saw his smirk, oh how much she hated that smirk!
He looked at her as he smirked. He had to admit, she became even more attractive. Her brown hair was longer. Her brown eyes were astonished seeing him.
Kripa- Angad Khanna, what are you doing here!
Angad- It's a New Year's party Kripa, even I could come
Kripa- Whatever. Before I could think this night could get worse, I see you
A- So your dateless huh
Kripa bit her tongue before she could reply. If she told him she was dateless then he woudl think she hadn't gotten over him. She had to lie that she had a caring, kind, and sweet boyfriend.
K- My boyfriend is in the restroom
A- Oh alright.
Kripa pretended to look around.
K- Angad, did your date run away from you?
A- No, she had to go home sick
K- Likewise. She must have gotten sick of you
A- You haven't changed one bit. Same arrogance, same anger, no wonder your single tonight
Kripa's eyes widened. how did he know she was single? Was it that evident?
A- I dated you for two years, I can tell when you lie
K- Whatever!
Kripa stomped and walked away. She hated him. He was so irritating. She couldn't believe she dated the loser for two years.
She went and sat on the bench outside. Before she knew it, he came and flopped next to her.
K- Are you stalking me Angad?
A- Who would stalk you? Anyways, you got a lighter?
K- The whole world can change, but not you. I thought you quit smoking
A- I left smoking for you but then you left me, so it's even
Kripa shook her head as he searched his pockets for his lighter, but couldn't find it.
Kripa took the cigarette out of his mouth and threw it on the grass.
A- What the ****
K- You should thank me, I saved you 11 minutes of your life
A- Yea, yea
K- Anyways, I don't want to spend my new year with you, so excuse me
A- You spent two new years with me, and you have to admit, the best two years of your life
Angad winked at her as Kripa gave him a cold stare.
K- Correction, the worst two years of my life, thanks to you
Kripa began walking away.
Angad and her both heard people counting down to 12.
"TEN, NINE, EIGHT"
Angad held Kripa's hand and swung her around, causing her to be wrapped in his arms.
"SEVEN, SIX, FIVE, FOUR"
They both stared into each other's eyes.
"THREE TWO"
Kripa was too shocked to move, but she knew she had to say something otherwise she'd regret it.
"ONE!!!"
K- Angad Khanna, don't you dare kis-----
Before she could complete her sentence, he placed a soft romantic kiss on her lips. It was as he had a spell over her because even when she told herself no, she returned the kiss. After she responded to it he deepened it, both of them satisfying the other. Kripa broke away from the kiss as soon as she heard people cheering. She cursed herself for falling into the kiss.
Kripa- urhghh! I told you not to kiss me!
Angad- Hey, it was for old times sake
K- Old times sake my foot! Stay away from me and my life!
Kripa walked away but Angad caught up with her, she sighed and stopped and faced him.
K- What!
A- Hey, I kissed you, but you're the one that returned the kiss
K- Because---erm.....because----
Angad waited with a smirk on his face.
K- Because of "old times sake," remember?
Angad laughed.
A- Yea, I remember
When they went inside, Angad rejoiced the New Year with his friends as Kripa went to her best friends, Alliya and Anjali. Alliya and Anjali both brought dates, Rahul and Vedant. They were only friends though.
The girls hugged her when they saw her.
Alliya- Kripa, where were you at the countdown?!
Kripa- Just....outside, getting fresh air, where's Rahul and Vedant?
Alliya- They went to get themselves some drinks, I hope by next year I can spend New Years with someone I love
Anjali- Me too, someone cares about me
Kripa- Me three.
Kripa thought "someone that has none of the same traits as Angad Khanna."
The girls did a cheers to the New Year and welcomed it.
Kripa turned her head, looking across the club, she saw Angad lift his glass and do a Cheers to her. She rolled her eyes, irritated by the very sight of him.
