OMG my mother would rather die, then ever make/force me to marry such a horrible person. I just don't get ganga's mom, she knew her husband hated that guy too. How can a mother force her daughter to such a horrible life. I am so happy my mom is nothing like this women.

I respectfully disagree with your opinion.

I believe you misunderstand Ganga's mother's intentions and her characterization in the serial. Ganga's mother neither wishes a bad future nor misery on her daughter; rather, as a mother, she is extremely concerned and apprehensive about her "pretty" young daugter whom she does not want eyes of strangers with lascivious thoughts to consume (e.g. the instance where Ganga's dupatta falls off and two males stare obscenely at Ganga) since the male member of the family (i.e. Ganga's father and her husband) cannot afford them the protection of his name or brawn after his untimely demise.

In conservative villages or towns of India, it is extremely hard for a single mother and daughter to live peacefully in society since anybody can take advantage of them. So, Ganga's mother is only trying to do what she belives is in her daughter's best interest—stability. And wrongly, of course, she belives that Madan can provide that stability in Ganga's life.

Moreover, you forget that as an audience member, we are privy to information about Madan's evil nature that Ganga's mother is not. Ganga's mother only knows that Madan has been taking care of the family by enabling them to buy foodstuffs and has also returned the property papers of their home at a time when they could have literally been forced to beg on the streets. In her naivete and hurry to do well by her daughter, she is choosing to ignore and forgive Madan's past mistakes and give him her daughter whom she belives Madan loves in his own way (though he has taken that love to an extreme by becoming obssessive and possessive about Ganga to the extent that his love is overshadowed by his need to acquire her by hook or crook) and keep her daughter happy.

Remember, no mother in the world can wish evil on her own child. But mothers are also humans and can make mistakes that sometimes affects their child's life adversely even though that has never been their intention.

I agree Ganga's mother is so mean and evil, she is dieing for her house, and selling her daughter after money 😡
she is disgusting,
everyone was honering her husband, the school inogration, her husbands dream was coming true, and what she did...

she is disgusting, there is no majboori, majboori doesn't make you sell your daughter 😡
that is so disgusting 😡

she is the main villian 😡 more evil than that buwa 🤢

and what was with the blackmailing, threatening to kill herself is ganga doesn't do what she says🤢 Can't she see her daughter is miserable with that guy! Why would a mother do that!

true she is giving lame excuses that she doesn't like saagar, okay if she doesn't trust saagar, but why is she forcing ganga to mary madan😡

see, if someone wants to die she didn't have to wait for her daughter to arive and threaten her with taking poison, when ganga said she is going to commit sucide, she actually was going to do it, but her mother she was just acting, she is the evil😡 (i don't know why? and I don't know how but she is evil🤢)

and I don't think anyone brainwashed her, Madan only gave her property and she knows madan is not a good guy, she doesn't even give her aashirwaad, but she is simply trading her daughter in return of her property(house)... that is so disgusting😡
