INTERVIEW OF AKSHAY KUMAR

You seem to be finding a total comfort level in comedies ...

I have become quite bored with doing comedies consistently for a long time. Now I am seriously thinking of going back to some action flicks. My next film 'Made In China' is an action film.

What about 'Bhool Bhulaiyan' with your favourite director Priyadarshan?

I would like to wait to discuss 'Bhool Bhulaiyan' around its release time.

It is said your son Aarav became over-friendly and over-excited on seeing the six-month baby in 'Heyy Babyy'. Is this true?

Aarav went to her whenever he got a chance, especially after I shot a scene with her. She was a toy for him. He was eagerly waiting to see the film too. I took him for the special screening and he did not sleep till 2 am. He kept on praising the baby.

Girls are chasing you in this film. How does this make you feel?

They all want to beat me up. I am a characterless guy in 'Heyy Babyy'.

Fardeen, Riteish and you had a tough time with the small baby. What do you say to this?

If there is a scene of sobbing, call Fardeen. If there is a comedy scene, summon Riteish Deshmukh. If you do not want to bring any expression from the baby, call me. That was the situation.

It is said that the baby worked only for 3-4 hours every day ...

That's right. We had a fun time every day in Sydney and the baby would go to sleep very fast every day. Fardeen was fond of gambling and we would all go to the casinos and play a lot.

Sajid Khan played many jokes on the actors all the time. Were you also involved in the pranks?

He is a harmless guy. Yes, 24 hours he would only make fun. But we all enjoyed it and besides being a great actor he is a fantastic director too.

The mood swings of the child must have made you feel helpless ...

Even producer Sajid Nadiadwala was helpless. The child is the star of the film.

From the action-thriller 'Khiladi', you have become a favourite with a number of other 'Khiladis' (films). Now, you seem to be returning to your action and romantic images ...

'Namastey London' had the soft and romantic side of me and it was appreciated. I do feel I should concentrate on action films too all over again. That way I can strike a balance.

You have also done an item number in 'Heyy Babyy'. How come?

We were all tired of listening to the term item girl. Sajid thought of putting an item number of all the three male actors. I remove my shirt and dance with my heels. But we are doing it to get money to feed the baby.

So babies are your weakness nowadays, would you say?

Ha! This small baby is such a darling that it makes every doting father feel proud. The transformation from a worthless bachelor to a doting father can be seen in this film and I am sure parents will love to see this film along with their children.

How would you describe 'Heyy Babyy' as a film?

It is a comedy, which will make you cry and laugh too - a very sensitive handling of a situational comedy with many more highlights, which you must see.
