hey everyone,

I am looking for a Sher O Shayri book for my mom for mother's day.  I would be placing the order in California and it should be in English but Hindi poems (hopefully this makes sense 😛).  My mom somehow has started on this love for reciting it and at the risk of encouraging her, I thought it would be a nice mother's day gift.  Anyone have any advice?

thanks!

😛

I have another suggestion, but this one is a little time consuming. Instead of buying a book, why not serach the net for good poems and compile them on your computer, then pint them out for her? That way you don't need to spend money, plus you can have your choice of poems on the book, hand-picked! 😊

I agree Preets, you could definately compile a collection yourself. But Joyceji, something that might touch her even more is if you wrote some poems yourself. That might take a bit more time than the other ideas, but it will definately touch her. 😳

Hey this is my collection i hope you like them love to share for your mother as to me all mothers are special

WONDERFUL MOTHER

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

My mom is very sweet and always caring.

She worried about me when I was in school.

She makes sure that I get where I am going

On time so that I don't feel like a fool.

She cares whenever I pick on my younger brother.

She cares whenever he or I get hurt.

She cares whenever I score a goal in soccer.

She cares about the buttons on my shirt.

But best of all, my mom loves all of us
Who live with her,

both when we're good and bad.

She makes me happy with a hug and kiss

And holds my hand whenever I am sad

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,

Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER,"

A word that means the world to me.

I LOVE YOU MOM!

Mom's smiles can brighten any moment,
Mom's hugs put joy in all our days,
Mom's love will stay with us forever
and touch our lives in precious ways...

The values you've taught,
the care you've given,
and the wonderful love you've shown,
have enriched my life
in more ways than I can count.

I Love you Mom!

YOU WERE THERE...

You were there when we took our first steps,
And went unsteadily across the floor.
You pushed and prodded: encouraged and guided,
Until our steps took us out the door...

You worry now "Are they ok?"
Is there more you could have done?
As we walk the paths of our unknown
You wonder"Where have my children gone?"

Where we are is where you have led us,
With your special love you showed us a way,
To believe in ourselves and the decisions we make.
Taking on the challenge of life day-to-day.

And where we go you can be sure,
In spirit you shall never be alone.
For where you are is what matters most to us,
Because to us that will always be home...
