What is so special about toffees?

Why are grown up middle aged women in their 50s so giddy about receiving toffees from their saas? Can someone please shed some light?

my heart broke for Abhira… spoke girl is always tainted at… she needs to get out of that Poddar house er I mean zoo.

Also can Abhir come back, and show Ruhi the mirror that his Mumma and he were separated from their family because of her mistake which Akshara willingly took on? I want him to disown Ruhi and the Goenkas the same way they disowned his pregnant mother..

I think it's a way of validation, a tradition sorts

They’re so rich! Can buy toffees themselves. Even if Dadisa wanted to give something why not something expensive or something? Like even giving gold coins make sense  but so much desperation for candies 🍭
