Hello fellow music enthusiasts!
Welcome to yet another Theme of the week!
This week's theme is the fascinating world of dreams and imagination.
Dreams are limitless, infinite, and at times, bizarre.
They could seem meaningless and could amount to nothing.
Like Shakespeare says in Romeo and Juliet:
“I talk of dreams,
Which are the children of an idle brain,
Begot of nothing but vain fantasy.”
But dreams are not always just hard-to-fathom stories that our mind creates when we sleep. Sometimes dreams are what motivate us to do better, try harder. These are dreams that are not yet real, but we aspire for them to be. They are the kick-starter for a better reality for many of us.
Like this famous APJ Abdul Kalam quote: "You have to dream before your dreams can come true".
And therein lies the truth of a dream: they aren't real, and when they do become real, they are no longer dreams.
At times, it's the path that is the dream and not the end point.
Take this quote from F. Scott Fitzgerald's The side of paradise: "It was always the becoming he dreamed of, never the being."
Dreams are distant, and some may feel unreachable. Some maybe horrific and they become nightmares, and we hope they don't come true.
Some dreams are dreamt when you are in deep R.E.M sleep and others can be daydreams - seen in broad daylight with your eyes wide open.
Which is where we step into the world of imagination. Because don't we all, as humans, bear this inherent capacity for storytelling?
So this week we will post:
Songs with lyrics / title pertaining to dreams or imagination. Songs with words such as 'Dream', 'Sapnay', 'khwab' etc.
Songs that are a dream sequence and are not 'real'
Songs that are imagined / made-up scenarios or stories
