What truly sets Chennai Express apart is its ability to embrace the absurd with open arms. From the mind-boggling stunts that would make James Bond raise an eyebrow to the heartwarming moments that'll make you reach for the tissues, this movie is a rollercoaster of emotions.
I think this and Om Shanti Om are the kind of commercial movies which are actually spoofing themselves -
they incorporate elements of self-awareness and humor that can be interpreted as a playful nod to Bollywood conventions.
The film embraces and exaggerates certain stereotypes and tropes found in traditional Indian cinema, creating a comedic effect that's both entertaining and self-referential.
The over-the-top action sequences, dramatic dialogues, and vibrant dance numbers are presented in a way that seems to acknowledge and celebrate the larger-than-life nature of Bollywood films. This can give the impression that the movie is in on the joke, intentionally playing with and poking fun at the established norms of the industry.
Did you also enjoy this movie?
BTW, SRK and Deepika both have excellent comic timing in this one.
