Ruk Ja Raat thehar Jaa Re chanda. This somg has been on my playlist ever since I recorded playlists on casette tapes and it has never been off hat playlist. Lata is exceptional as always. the angst, the sadness and the  melody, she captures it all and some more.

The lyrics by Shailendra are worth it's weight in the gold. Jeevan Seema Se aagey chalungi Sang Tumhare, People don't write such songs nowadays, this is sheer poetry.

Shankar Jaikishen are fantastic.

A beautiful song often makes me think, "Let me save this in the IF music thread, so that I can listen whenever I want to." Furthermore, my primary goal is to ensure that when I'm gone from this world in a few years, future IF members will listen to our earnest contributions to this website.

Music Director-- Ram Ganguly

Lyrics-- Iqbal Hussain Hasrat Jaipuri

Song---Raat Hai Armaan Bhari ·

Singers -- Geeta Dutt, Talat Mahmood

Film--  Sangam (1952)

This is the first time I have heard this sone, wonderful share, Thanks. Geeta Dutt sounds a bit different, in a a good way, always loved her voice. Talat's slightly shaky, silken smooth voice complements her well, It is a soft melody.

Suraj,I admire Geeta Dutt; when she sings that song, her voice sounds like a beating heart singing it. A truly lovely and sophisticated voice. Her wonderfully emotive voice provides a vivid picture of every emotion she expresses, and I cannot put it into words!

She has a slightly heavy voice, in the mold of pre-lata singers and that is what made her very unique, she had quite a range, Waqt Ne Kiya and Babuji are poles apart. Many of her songs feature in my playlist.
