What an absolutely devastating news!
They don’t make Legends like him anymore. His movies are not just timeless classics and masterpieces but a great study material for the present and future generations. He was the first director to debunk the theory that the arthouse cinema cannot be entertaining. His Shankarabharanam will forever remain at the top in the Indian Cinema.
May his soul rest in peace. We will miss you KVV. Thank you for giving me the movies that I can watch again and again even now. 🙏🏻
Oh no…he made some of the most brilliant movies …
….such strong emotions and values in them…
RIP…
Dunno how many times we had watched his Kaamchor and Sanjog. RIP.
With him, SP Balasubramaniam and Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry gone its truly an end of an era in Telugu cinema and music. K.Viswanath is someone who debunked the theory that arthouse movies cannot be commercial successes. Each one of his movies is a masterpiece. Its a strange coincidence that he got "Sivaikyam" on the day his classic Shankarabharanam released 43 yrs ago! Today he has become "Shankarabharanam" may his soul find the eternal jyoti 🙏🏼
What a sad news to wake up to😭
RIP Viswanath garu 🙏🏻
You will live in our hearts forever❤️
Shankarabharanam, Saptapadi, Swathimutyam, Sagara Sangamam, Swarna Kamalam, Siri Vennela, …….My most favourite movies of most favourite director K.Viswanth garu.

All his movies have aged so well that even after 40 years or so, they are still just as entertaining as ever. He doesn’t need his heroines to shed their clothes neither does he need superstars to tell his stories. Shankarabharanam spearheaded by a newcomer middle aged actor playing the central character Shankara Sastry was the HGOTY when it released that too not just in the Telugu speaking states but in the entire south India. He was one of the directors who helped Kamal Hassan shape up into what he is now.
Indeed a Kalatapasvi!!!!
A hand written note by Kamal Hassan who calls him his master.

May his soul rest in peace
When telugu cinema was fully into commercial line, he was so different. Directed some real classic movies which will be remembered for generations to come.
Thanks you sir, for those classics. I can watch them again and again.
Indeed he IS Kalatapsvi. He proved to the world that purse classical music is something universally enjoyable with his all time best film and also a path breaking film Shankarabharanam.
His art remains forever. His films entertained people across generations.
He elevated Telugu cinema to another level.
