Purpose of having this topic, and poll created at begining of this post is to check how many viewers aren't connecting to Radha and why? So you aren't only one. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

My guess is no one at this point is connecting with Radha... The audience is ok with everything other than Radha, damini and her mother... I guess they should revolve the story around these characters rather than Radha and damini

Initial two launch promos purpose is to highlight Radha's so called devotional love and Mohan going with Damini by leaving her (as if he crushed her dreams by cheating her known pure love).๐Ÿ˜ƒ How will they easily let go of triangle?๐Ÿ˜›

But as course correction, for few weeks they can focus on creating more flash back scenes of romance, marriage, family adjustment issues both sides, Tulsi pregnancy, toddler Gungun, how Mohan established his business with Tulsi's help, how house was built etc. using more of Shabir & Keerti. And current day scenes of Mohan trying to slowly build trust of Gungun, even without Radha's intrusion to fill up episodes.

In the meanwhile writers can buy this time, work on paper more on improving character sketches and background stories of Radha & Damini and if possible makers look for replacement actresses to suit these two character graphs accordingly?

Absolutely... They can show Mohan trying to build a rapport with gungun and at some point she wants to know their story and he narrates the same. that could also mean in the course of retrospection mohan figures out what went wrong. the story can go to FB and present where bits of radha and damini are shown as progression in the present.

This girl surely cant carry it off and secondly the character isn't written well either. if the show does do well. it will be all credit to shabir and then the addition of reesha, keerti and the other support cast... Minus radha and damini. they surely have to much work to do.

They do have much work to do. With RadhaMohan as the title, they needed to have a stronger character and an experienced actor for the role of Radha, who would have complemented both Shabir and Mohan. With half the title already weak, its not a good sign.

Interestingly, the title of the original refers to the ghost. Not surprising then that the audience seem to connect more to Tulsi than Radha. They seem to have made quite a few changes for Mohan - perhaps because they were looking for Shabir to play the role. A similar attempt was (and is) required for Radha too, esp since she's half the title of the show. (Curious as to whether any of the other remakes focused on the love story or were titled in a similar way.)

Else it would've been better the title suggested something like 'Mohan's journey' (back to his former happy self) with no particular FL - may even experiment with Radha to see how it goes with the audience. Projecting her as the FL upfront does seem to be working to their disadvantage right now.

Can only (or cant help) compare it with Tisha/Abhigya and Kkb... there were many instances where we may have less ss for Abhi/Shabz... but we wont even notice it because Pragya/Sriti holds the fort at those times - and vice versa. Things got boring only when both weren't getting ss. And that difference is quite visible here.

(Hmm... dont know whether we are being too critical๐Ÿ˜ฒ. It may turn out that the TV audience don't mind it at all.)

I dont think we are being critical. it's an honest opinion that Neeharika as Radha isn't really working and it's partly the maker's fault as well. She's not childish or child-like instead she is annoying and dumb.

I mean she doesn't get a simple message that she cannot be forcing her opinion and presence on gungun and mohan. the character requires to be much subtler and smooth.

She also seems to be dumb in real life too from all the bts that is coming out. she's a child and I don't blame her. it's just that they needed a better actress that could hold the fort with shabir. here everything is on his shoulder and now seems like Keerti and Reesha will share the load.

Just by the way I am loving the sassy stepbrother too. he was so good in the little SS he got in the end today.

I already mentioned in few earlier posts. Re-sharing bits here.

RM is not a newly created fresh story. Its core concept, main characters & story outline picked from other versions, even if some changes are made to suit Shabir's image & hindi audience tastes, basic plot still remains same, which is dead wife returning as ghost to take revenge on her enemies, to NOT let vamp marry her husband. Some remakes of same story took more of horror route, few didn't mostly confined to step mom & evil vamp plotting's, but show titles directly or indirectly were around wife.

In all remakes of same original Tamil show, seems naive village belly character was shown as close relative / friend / very well known to the male lead as chubby, bubbly, young, immature girl since the beginning and he was in touch with her and her family for long years, and may be that character in those shows was better written, casted, performed & styled, unlike here in RM version.

And those original & remake shows titles were NOT around village belly character too, that might have been an advantage for those shows. Here feel LSD films and Zee unnecessarily gave shows title around devotional / mythological  Radha Mohan with religious touch also termed it as Pyar ka Pehla naam which means first name of love, which is contradictory to story plots and Mohan's life. And they also went overboard and promoted show around title more from POV of Radha.

Repost from EDT#1 (had forgotten about this thread)

Hmm... Think they haven't gone wrong with Radha's characterisation - it is going exactly like those of the lead roles in 'devotional' shows - at least bits of which I have seen. What are the other things she does in her life? Doesn't matter because only thing important is the devotion aspect.

Characters there are likely to 'pray with all their might' to get them out of trouble. Even the trolling by fellow characters never matter to them - which is generally done by the villains of these shows = the  'non-believers' who may even mock gods themselves, or even people who practice other forms of spirituality. So any amount of (even Mohan) trying to drill some sense into her is not going to happen. Even in May 13 episode, like he said, only thing she perhaps heard is 'gift'.

Prospects are its going to stay that way. Say if there comes a scene where she is kidnapped and tied to a chair, she is more likely to try to untie her hands so that she can fold her hands in a namaskar when she prays, rather than trying to reach out for the cell phone or liquor bottle - cum - glass piece - cum - knife - cum - whatever else to free herself. Wont be surprised if she gets a call from Mohan but decides not to pick it up because she has taken a vow of silence until she is freed. And of course, nothing will ever happen to her because she is a 'true' or 'truest' devotee.

Unless they decide to give up this angle... its not going to go good.

Haven't followed any devotional TV daily series, so can't comment about them. If RadhaMohan shows title was Meerabai or female lead character name was Meera,๐Ÿ˜Š may be it was understandable but some how still unconvincing.

Here her character is a village pandit's beti, read Gita several times, her brought up, reverence and guidance seem mis-matched with her background and repeated fake voice chants. Devotion to Lord may be understandable to some extent, as this character might have found solace in bhakti after losing her mothers care too early as a child and spent more time in her fathers temple. But as I mentioned in some other post, Gita kind holy books guide people to do their duty, follow journey, understand purpose of life etc. not just stand still, cry, play victim and pray for every issue without due thoughts or action.๐Ÿ˜•

But biggest disconnect is Mohan didn't even meet or speak to this kid for 14 years i.e. from her 6 to 20 years age of growth and she is too devoted/infatuated to that teenager boy and placed him almost equal to Kanhaji, its kind of an insult actually to Lord. And then showing Meera qualities and behavior as that of Radha is another mismatch reference to mythology and romance with respect to shows title prefix Pyar ka PEHLA naam. Don't know how they can proceed without correction to this character.

Yes it is actually a mismatch on various counts - character, backstory, title... And later on they plan to unite the two - which is inconceivable right now.

Its better if they stick to '... jo milaye is mohan ko us mohan se' role for Radha, without any romantic angle to it. Perhaps, as some suggested, with a Tulsi lookalike coming in, who he will get married to. And let Radha be that lifelong devotee somewhere else.
