Mere Haath Mein Tera Haath Ho... I have your hands in mine...Part 1

I dedicate this FS to Pari who wants a VeeRani/RanVeer story from me.I thank my friend Shesha who gave me an idea from a Pocket FM story named Something Something in tamil to write this story.I don’t know the story of that series.So the whole story is my imagination.

A cremation was going on.A young girl was crying.She was Rani.

Rani:Maa!

Her best friend Pakhi told her mother Anupriya:Maa,we say that only good things happen to good people.Then why did this happen to Rani?

Anupriya:I don’t know why this poor girl is suffering.I can’t bear her pain.

Anupriya’s husband Arjun said:We have to support Rani in her difficult times.

Pakhi went near Rani and held her hand painfully.

Pakhi:Rani…

Rani hugged Pakhi and cried.

Rani said weeping:The only person I had in this world was my mother.I lost her also.I am alone now.

Anupriya:You are not alone.You have us.We have always considered you as my daughter.So now onwards you will stay with us.

Rani could not believe her ears.

Rani:How can I?

Pakhi:Why not Rani?We are best friends and not less than friends.

Arjun:Daughters stay with their parents.Right?When you are our daughter,you should stay in our home.Right?

Rani shed tears emotionally and Pakhi hugged her.

Rani shifted to Pakhi’s house.

Rani was gloomy.

Arjun:You took the right decision to bring Rani here.Otherwise loneliness would have killed her.

Anupriya:I hope our home atmosphere will help her forget her pain.

Arjun:Definitely we will make her happy again.

After a week…

Pakhi:Rani,I told you about my brother Veer.He is returning from US.

Rani gave her a pale smile.

Rani:I am glad that your brother is also joining you.

Pakhi smiled.

After few days…

Rani was walking lost in sad thoughts.Suddenly she bumped into someone.She just slipped and that person held her tight.They stared at each other.

Rani:Yes,I am alright.

He:You are Rani.Right?

Rani was surprised.

Rani:How did you recognize me?

He:Pakhi always talks to me about you.She also told me that you are here now.By the way,do you know who I am?

Rani:Veer!At first sight itself I had recognized you.Pakhi had shown her brother’s photograph to me.

He smiled.

Pakhi came there.

Pakhi:So finally both of you met each other.

Veer:Yes.Finally we did meet each other.

They smiled.

Rani was sitting and thinking of her lost family.

Veer sat near her.

Veer:What are you thinking Rani?

Rani was silent.

Veer:You are thinking of your lost parents.Right?

Rani became upset.

Veer:Rani,we can’t replace the family you lost.But we can give you the love and happiness you got from your late parents.Won’t you accept us?

Rani nodded emotionally.

Rani:I have always considered Arjun uncle and Anupriya aunty as my parents.Pakhi is my everything.

Veer smiled.

Veer:And me?

Rani was silent.

Veer:Will you become my friend?

Rani smiled:Yes.

Veer and Rani smiled at each other.

Pakhi became so excited that she ran out of her house.

Pakhi reached a ground.She could see a helicopter in the air.Agastya looked out of the helicopter passing a smile to her.She smiled at him happily.

Agastya threw flower petals at her.She was amazed by the flower fall on her.

She twirled around as the flower petals fell over her.

The helicopter reached the ground and Agastya came out.Pakhi looked at him happily.

Diwali came.

Anupriya gave a dress to Rani.

Anupriya:Rani,I hope you will like it.You wear this for the Diwali celebration.

Rani was silent.Anupriya left.

Pakhi:You wear this Rani.You will look pretty in this dress.

Rani did not show any interest in the festival.

Rani:I don’t want to celebrate it Pakhi.I am not coming for the Diwali party.

Pakhi:Rani…please come yaar…

Rani:I don’t feel like celebrating Pakhi.You know why.Right?

Pakhi became upset.She caressed her head and left.

Veer who overheard this went near her.

Veer:I know that you are not in a mood to do any celebration.But Rani…your life is not empty.We are there with you.There is pain in your life.But you should not allow pain to rule you.You should throw out your pain and move on.The first stepping stone should be becoming a part of celebrations.Be a part of Diwali with us.Because I..I mean we genuinely want to see you happy.Because sad face does not suit you.

Rani smiled:You are right.I should throw out my pain and move on atleast for all of you who genuinely want me to be happy.

Veer smiled.

Veer:So tell me..will you celebrate Diwali with us?

Rani smiled:Yes.

Veer smiled happily.

Pakhi was dressing up in her room.Agastya came inside and embraced her from behind.

She was surprised.

Pakhi:I will do it.

Agastya:No,I will do it.

He tried to pin it and he could not do it properly.

Pakhi started laughing.

Pakhi:You talked as if you are an expert in dressing up women.But you can’t even pin something properly.

Agastya got irritated.

Agastya:Stop teasing me Pakhi.I swear..after marriage,everyday I will dress you up and I will become an expert in it.

Pakhi pulled his cheeks and said:You are so cute Agastya..

He smiled.They both giggled.

Rani wore the dress Anupriya gifted her and went to the Diwali party.Veer was mesmerized by Rani’s beauty.

Pakhi was surprised to see Rani.She walked towards Rani and hugged her.

Pakhi:I am so happy that you came for the Diwali party Rani.

Arjun:We were waiting for you Rani.Pakhi had no hope.But we were sure that our Rani will be a part of our happiness.

Rani smiled.

Anupriya:Rani,you look very pretty in this dress.Like I imagined,this is really suiting you.

Rani smiled.

Rani:Agastya,good that you returned after your meeting in Dubai.Pakhi really missed you.

Agastya:I also missed her a lot.

Agastya and Pakhi smiled at each other.

Agastya held her hand and said:Pakhi,I promise you that I will not go away from you again.

Even if it’s for a meeting I will take you along with me.

She held her face sweetly with a smile.

He held held her hand

and pressed his lips on her palm.

Rani:They love each other so much.I realized the beauty of love after seeing their love.

Rani was looking at the mirror.She realized that her chain was missing from her neck.

Rani:My chain…

Suddenly she saw Veer near her.

Veer:Here is your chain.

Rani saw the chain in his hand.She was relieved.

Veer:I got it from the floor.

Rani:Thank you very much Veer.

Veer:Why were you so worried about this chain?

Rani:Because it’s gifted by my mother on my last birthday.Today I really missed my mother,that’s why I wore it.

Veer:If you don’t tie the chain properly,it will fall down.

Rani was embarrassed.

Veer:But I will put the chain for you properly.

Rani was surprised.Before she could say anything,he placed the chain around her neck.

She smiled.

Rani was tensed.

Rani:How can I?

Pakhi:Why not Rani?You were the most studious student.Then why are you hesitant?

Veer:Pakhi is right.You had a reason to be away from your career.But now it’s time for you to think about your career.

Arjun:If you have any other interest then…

Rani:No…nothing like that.I think I should come out of grief and engage in something.

They smiled.

Rani and Veer were in the car.

Veer:Are you tensed?

Rani:A little bit as I have no experience.

Veer:I will help you.Don’t worry.

Rani smiled.

In the office Veer helped Rani in the beginning and she picked up quickly.

Veer massaged her legs when her legs got sprained.

Rani slipped down from the stool and she screamed 

She realized that she fell in Veer's arms.

They looked at each other deeply.

Pakhi:She is Kiara.She was Veer bhaiyya’s childhood friend.We tease Veer bhaiyya saying that Kiara is his childhood love because both Kiara and Veer bhaiyya used to say in childhood that they will get married when they become adults.

Rani’s heart was broken into pieces.
